Pre-Medical Examination: In the expansive canvas of our country’s education system, the Pre-Medical Examination stands as a crucial juncture for aspiring medical professionals, sparking a myriad of perspectives. Numbers Tell a Story
A profound revelation surfaces when we scrutinize the staggering number of students entering the academic race. Approximately 2 crore students undertake class X exams across various boards, with an impressive 16.24 lakh students in the CBSE system alone. A 2022 report by The Times of India unveiled that 1.34 lakh CBSE students secured over 90%. Extrapolating this data to encompass all boards, the collective count of high-achieving students may well surpass 10 lakh.
NEET UG 2022: A Candid Appraisal
In stark contrast, the 2022 NEET UG entrance examination witnessed a colossal 17.44 lakh participants. However, a mere 21,000 managed to secure a minimum of 600 marks (83.3%). This incongruity prompts a crucial question – if a significant number of students can excel with over 90% in class X, why doesn’t this proficiency uniformly translate to competitive exams like NEET?

Drawing upon a decade of experience in mentoring students for pre-Medical Examination and pre-engineering entrances post my graduation from IIT, I advocate for a paradigm shift. Many students grapple not only with the rigors of competition but also with a dearth of guidance on effective study strategies.

Students, in my observation, often succumb to the fear of competition, diverting attention from the crucial aspect of scoring above 600 marks for admission to a reputable Government Medical college. A prevalent issue is the dearth of guidance on effective study strategies. Teachers and parents contribute to competition-related stress, neglecting actionable advice on:
